The Kids and Diabetes in Schools (KiDS) project aims to foster a safe and supportive school environment that creates a better understanding of diabetes and supports children with this condition. It also provides information about how type 2 diabetes can be prevented by making effective lifestyle choices. Developed by healthcare experts, the Global Diabetes Information Pack for Schools provides teachers, parents and children with information on diabetes prevention and its management.

The KiDS project has a new version of its app available for iOS and Android tablets. Designed to offer diabetes management and prevention tips to teachers, parents and children alike, the app also features games on healthy eating and managing blood sugar.

In addition, 7,650 parents and 13,650 students received the KiDS information pack.
In New Delhi, a total of 921 teachers and 27,937 students in seven public and eight private schools were trained as part of the KiDS Project, with an additional 228 teachers receiving similar training from the State Council for Educational Research and Training.
